SVAls nu Pilatus zag, dat hij niet vorderde, maar veel meer [dat er] oproer werd, nam hij water en wies de handen voor de schare, zeggende: Ik ben onschuldig aan het bloed dezes Rechtvaardigen; gijlieden moogt toezien.

ASVSo when Pilate saw that he prevailed nothing, but rather that a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; see ye [to it].

SchAls nun Pilatus sah, daß er nichts ausrichtete, sondern daß vielmehr ein Aufruhr entstand, nahm er Wasser und wusch sich vor dem Volk die Hände und sprach: Ich bin unschuldig an dem Blut dieses Gerechten; sehet ihr zu!
